BED BUGS

Bed Bugs

The bed bug (Cimex lectularius) has been a parasite of humans throughout written history. Its adaptation to humans is so complete that its bite is not noticed until well after the bug leaves its victim, if it is noticed at all. Attracted by the warmth of our bodies and the carbon dioxide we exhale, bed bugs emerge usually at night from hiding places, seeking human blood. While pathogens have been found in bed bugs, the bed bug apparently does not transmit diseases to humans.

Bedbugs may enter your home undetected through luggage, clothing, used beds and couches, and other items. Their flattened bodies make it possible for them to fit into tiny spaces, about the width of a credit card. Bedbugs do not have nests like ants or bees, but tend to live in groups in hiding places. Their initial hiding places are typically in mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and headboards where they have easy access to people to bite in the night.

BANOTICK DUST TM

BANOTICK DUST TM is an Organic, 100% natural, eco-friendly and safe pest control solution for your household needs. It is diatomaceous earth (DE) which is a siliceous fossil (diatoms) flour found naturally like other minerals that has several domestic and industrial uses. It contains trace minerals including calcium, potassium, copper, zinc, iron, phosphorus and selenium. The sharp edges in DE cut the exoskeletal insect’s outer shell, thus dehydrating and killing them. Insects cannot develop resistance to this product.

Uses: Besides ticks and fleas, it can also be used for control of general pests and garden insects like ants, bed bugs, silver fish, spiders, mites, aphids, caterpillar.

Prevention

Use Banotick Dust. Sprinkle the powder under the beddings, wall skirting and in places where bugs hide and breed. Wash clothes in hot water, iron them and stock separately.

It is very difficult to prevent bed bug infestation, as they come along the host carrying the bugs inadvertently in their clothes, baggage etc. Once inside the premise they take harbourage and breed instantly. Check your belongings properly during travel.
