Treatment

Prevention

Glue boards are safe and sound bets for catching rodents alive though there are others way of getting rid of them like baiting, installing ultrasonic devices, mouse traps etc.

Check for gaps under the doors, along electrical cable entries, duct entries, in walls. Seal them appropriately. Cover drains with proper strains, mesh the ventilation and exhaust outlets.

SNAKE

SNAKE

Most people are bitten when trying to kill or handle a snake. As a general rule, snakes are just as frightened of you as possibly you are of them. Often they move as quickly as possible in the other direction. Snakes cause no property damage, but seeing a snake or its shed (skin) may frighten some people.

Snakes are seen more often in the spring or fall as they search for food or move to and from a hibernation area. Snakes frequently are associated with small mammal habitat because rodents are a primary food source. For this reason, snakes are considered beneficial to man.

Tall vegetation just outside the fence/gate/periphery walls/ garages/ stores etc. should be removed.

Treatment

Prevention

Spraying snake repellent concoctions and powder, glue traps will solve the issue.

There are several snake prevention techniques. The easiest, and perhaps the best, is habitat modification. The snakes are on your property because something is attracting them to that area. The two most likely attractants are cover and forage. If your property has a lot of debris and thick plantlife, it will attract snakes. Especially attractive are things snakes can hide under, such as plywood boards, gaps under concrete, etc. Eliminate the clutter, trim back the weeds, and fill in any gaps that snakes would like to use for shelter! Also, lower the food source through methods such as rat control. Another, more extreme, means of snake prevention is the installation of a fence around the perimeter of the property. It must be flush with the ground, or preferably go into the ground, and angled outward at a 20 degree or so angle, and be at least two feet high. A nice, solid, vertical fence that is flush with the ground, no gaps underneath, will also do.
